Engineering qualifications provide real benefits for learners and employers to a range of organisations and covers all the major engineering industries. Civil engineering, Electrical and Electronic engineering, Mechanical as well as Telecommunication engineering.

The course focuses on the major disciplines within engineering, the learner will gain the knowledge and hand skills needed to develop or build on a successful career in engineering and advanced manufacturing.

You can choose optional units to suit your chosen career path in mechanical manufacturing engineering. Subjects covered include: Welding Using Computer Aided Manufacturing Processes Plant maintenance Electronic circuits Power supply. You will learn in the classroom and in a work-based environment. Your assessments will be a mixture of practical assignments and written and on-line testing.

This level is ideal for school leavers considering a career in engineering and will provide a basic understanding of engineering principles. To earn this qualification, you must complete a range of mandatory and optional units, including: Carrying out basic fitting techniques Carrying out mechanical assembly Producing engineering drawings. This level is ideal if you're a school leaver with some engineering knowledge and experience, or you require some engineering skills in your role. You will develop your understanding and practical experience of specific engineering technologies. There are four qualifications available at both Certificate and Diploma size. The Certificate size qualifications are included in the Improving Operational Performance Apprenticeship framework and the Diploma size qualifications are included in the Intermediate Engineering Manufacture Apprenticeship framework. There are also four qualifications available at Certificate size for international learners. To gain these qualifications, you must complete a range of mandatory and optional units, including: Engineering technology Fabrication and welding technology Using computer-aided manufacturing processes.
